Role
Jhpiego is hiring a Program Officer – Competency Enhancement in New Delhi. This full-time role supports the implementation of nursing competency reforms by strengthening Nursing Competency Centres, simulation-based learning and competency-based education initiatives. You will work closely with government departments, nursing councils, academic institutions and development partners while contributing to programme planning, technical support, stakeholder coordination and quality improvement across multiple states.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, establishment and operationalisation of Nursing Competency Centres (NCCs).
- Assist in designing and implementing Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) systems.
- Support infrastructure planning, equipment procurement and operational readiness of simulation centres.
- Develop staffing models and operational plans for competency assessment centres.
- Assist in implementing competency-based assessment methodologies including OSCE and Computer-Based Testing (CBT).
- Coordinate with government departments, nursing councils, academic institutions and healthcare facilities.
- Support Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) and governance mechanisms for NCC implementation.
- Conduct capacity-building and technical mentoring for government officials and partner institutions.
- Assist in budgeting and resource planning for Nursing Competency Centres.
- Prepare technical documents, implementation plans, operational guidelines and training materials.
- Monitor programme implementation and prepare reports, presentations and knowledge products.
- Support programme planning, documentation and reporting to achieve project objectives.
Requirements
- Graduate in Nursing with an advanced degree in Nursing, Public Health Administration or a related field.
- 3–5 yr of experience in the nursing ecosystem with experience in Nursing Competency Centres or Simulation Labs.
- Strong analytical, research and technical writing skills.
- Experience coordinating with government and development sector stakeholders.
- Knowledge of competency-based education and nursing simulation practices.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and digital communication tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
