Role

The Antara Foundation is hiring a Program Officer – Training & Implementation in Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur, Odisha. This full-time, field-based role leads district-level health systems strengthening initiatives by planning programmes, coordinating with government stakeholders and ensuring high-quality implementation of maternal and child health interventions. You will work closely with district and block health officials while travelling regularly across health facilities and intervention locations within the assigned district to support programme implementation and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead district-level facility enhancement and health systems strengthening interventions.
  • Plan and coordinate programme implementation across the assigned district.
  • Conduct district-level training programmes for supervisors and staff nurses.
  • Build strong partnerships with district and block government officials.
  • Represent programme priorities in sector, block and district review meetings.
  • Support NQAS, QIC, BQAC and DQAC quality certification processes.
  • Monitor programme implementation and identify opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Track district data and prepare timely programme reports.
  • Resolve day-to-day implementation challenges while escalating critical issues when required.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Social Work or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in public health or development programmes.
  • Understanding of health systems strengthening and district health systems.
  • Experience coordinating with government departments and stakeholders.
  • Strong monitoring, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable using programme data for monitoring and decision-making.
  • Fluency in Odia and English.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned district.
