Role
Breakthrough is seeking a Senior Manager Institutional Partnerships to lead its institutional fundraising portfolio. The role will drive donor engagement, grant acquisition, partnership development, and fundraising strategy while managing relationships with institutional donors across India and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to achieve institutional fundraising targets.
- Identify and qualify new domestic and international funding opportunities.
- Analyse donor trends and position Breakthrough as a preferred funding partner.
- Build and manage long-term relationships with institutional donors.
- Represent Breakthrough at donor meetings, conferences, and sector forums.
- Lead grant negotiations and contract review processes.
- Develop high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, and funding applications.
- Collaborate with programme, finance, and monitoring & evaluation teams on proposal development.
- Oversee grant stewardship, donor reporting, and compliance throughout the grant lifecycle.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of experience in institutional fundraising, business development, or partnerships within the development sector.
- Proven experience securing and managing large institutional grants.
- Strong understanding of gender equality, human rights and development issues.
- Excellent grant writing, proposal development and storytelling skills.
- Strong financial understanding, including budgets and donor reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
