The National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) is a technical support body set up under the National Health Mission. It helps the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and state governments make public health services stronger, through planning, policy advice, research and training. Its work helps government health systems reach more people, especially in rural and underserved areas. NHSRC also hires experts on behalf of the Ministry to support national health programmes. This role sits within the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's Central TB Division (CTD), which leads India's National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP).
Role
As Technical Officer for Planning and Donor Coordination, you will help the Central TB Division plan, budget and fund India's work to end tuberculosis. You will support the national programme plan, work closely with donor agencies, and help states build strong yearly plans so that TB care reaches the people who need it. This is a contract role based in New Delhi, with a lot of travel to states.
Responsibilities
- Support the Central TB Division in writing and updating the NTEP programme implementation plan.
- Prepare funding proposals for bilateral donor agencies.
- Coordinate the division's work with donors, including donor reports, joint donor missions and mid-term reviews.
- Train and support state teams to plan and budget better for TB work.
- Review yearly budgeted action plans from states and union territories, and advise on them in line with each state's National Health Mission plan (PIP).
- Coordinate with states on planning and donor issues, reviews and reporting.
- Work with technical officers from other parts of the programme on issues that cut across teams.
- Help teams adopt digital tools such as Nikshay to enter, check and use TB data for public health action.
Requirements
- You hold an MBA in Healthcare Management, a Master's in Public Health (MPH), or a PG Diploma in Healthcare Management.
- At least five years of experience working with public health programmes is preferred.
- Skills in programme planning, budgeting, donor relationships, proposal writing and project management are a strong plus.
- Knowledge of tuberculosis control is an advantage.
- You have working knowledge of computers.
- You are 65 years of age or under, can work from New Delhi and are ready to travel extensively.
- If selection includes a written test, the minimum qualifying mark is 70%.
Benefits
- Monthly pay between ₹90,000 and ₹1,30,000.
- A chance to shape how India plans and funds its national TB programme.
- Close work with national and state health teams and international donor agencies.
- Hands-on experience in public health planning at the national level.
