THANAL

THANAL runs Micro Learning Centres where children come together to learn with the support of local teachers. It also runs street meal distribution so that people in need get regular, healthy food. Both programmes rely on strong field teams who show up every day and keep careful records. The goal is simple: steady learning for children and dependable meals for the community. This role sits within THANAL's field operations team, which runs the learning centres and meal programmes across Karnataka.

Role

The Zonal Head is in charge of the learning centres and street meal work across one zone in and around Hassan. You will visit centres and distribution points often, guide teachers and field staff, fix problems as they come up, and make sure every child and every person we serve gets good quality support on time. You will be the link between the field teams and the State Heads and Head Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of zonal Micro Learning Centres and street meal distribution programs.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor class activities, teacher/student attendance, meal quality, hygiene, and distribution logs.
• Supervise, set targets for, and evaluate field teams and teachers through regular meetings and performance tracking.
• Maintain accurate MIS records, address operational gaps, ensure policy compliance, and report updates to State and Head Office leadership.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of field experience managing education, nutrition, or community development programs.
• Based in (or willing to relocate to) Hassan, Karnataka, with availability for frequent local travel.
• Proven experience supervising field staff, setting team targets, and maintaining activity/attendance MIS records.
• Strong problem-solving, report-writing, and coordination skills to engage effectively with communities and organizational leadership.
