Role

The Finance Manager will keep the organisation's finances running accurately and transparently. From daily bookkeeping and payroll to donor reports and audits, this role ensures CIF's resources are used responsibly across all projects and field offices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage contracts for staff, consultants, volunteers, and interns.
  • Review bills and invoices from project locations for accuracy and compliance with organisational standards.
  • Collect quotes for purchases, prepare comparison statements, and process purchase orders as per procurement procedures.
  • Coordinate timely payments to vendors and service providers.
  • Record daily financial transactions in Zoho Online and complete weekly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly payroll for all staff, consultants, interns, and volunteers.
  • Manage timely payment and compliance for Professional Tax (PT), Provident Fund (EPF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), and Tax Deducted at Source (TDS).
  • File quarterly, half-yearly, and annual statutory returns for ESI, EPF, PT, Income Tax, and FCRA.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and donor-specific financial reports.
  • Coordinate project, statutory, and donor audits.
  • Keep financial records and supporting documents organised and up to date for all transactions.
  • Work with programme teams and field offices on finance, compliance, and reporting needs.
  • Support the strengthening of financial systems and internal controls across the organisation.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Executive Director, Project Leads, or Finance Trustee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in finance and accounts; experience in an NGO or development organisation is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with donor-funded projects, statutory compliance, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
  • Comfortable using Zoho Online, Google Suite, and other accounting software.
  • Well-organised and detail oriented, with strong communication and documentation skills.
