Law and Equity Foundation

Law and Equity Foundation is a Jharkhand-based legal organisation made up of lawyers committed to providing access to justice for marginalised communities. The team takes up cases related to disability rights, gender rights, juveniles, undertrials, and prison reforms. Beyond courtroom representation, they also conduct legal awareness sessions and help people draft representations and pursue cases before relevant authorities.

Role

Support the legal team with drafting, research, and court appearances across district courts, High Courts, and statutory commissions. This role also involves assisting with legal awareness work in communities.

Responsibilities

• Draft legal documents, petitions, and representations for cases across courts and commissions
• Conduct legal research to support case preparation and advocacy work
• Appear in district courts, High Courts, and commissions including the State Human Rights - Commission, Disability Commissioner, and Child Welfare Committee
• Assist in planning and conducting legal awareness sessions for marginalised communities

Requirements

• Law graduate with 0 to 5 years of experience; fresh graduates are welcome to apply
• Interest in working on disability rights, gender rights, juvenile justice, and prison reforms
• Ability to draft legal documents clearly and accurately
• Willingness to work in a field-oriented, community-focused legal environment
