Role
The Senior Architect will serve as the primary technical and design link between central leadership and multiple project teams. This role oversees the architectural quality of large-scale institutional buildings including schools, universities, and hospitals, ensuring that designs are safe, functional, cost-effective, and in line with organisational standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the review of architectural plans, sections, and details for institutional buildings; ensure compliance with safety standards, campus master plans, and sector-specific regulations.
- Act as the central coordination point across multiple projects; work with external architects, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) and structural consultants, and designers to ensure consistency in drawings and resolve design conflicts before they reach the construction site.
- Define material and product specifications suited to institutional and high-traffic environments; review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and identify options to optimise budgets without reducing design quality.
- Prepare clear comparisons of design options, material choices, and vendor proposals; present findings and data-driven insights to senior leadership for decision-making.
- Serve as the key link between the design team and on-site contractors; brief leadership regularly on project progress, design changes, and potential risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch). Council of Architecture (COA) registration is preferred.
- 10 to 12 years of experience in architectural design and management, with a proven track record in schools, universities, or hospital projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and Microsoft Office; able to read and interpret complex technical drawings and BOQs.
- Strong analytical skills for comparing design options and presenting findings clearly to senior leadership.
- Good communication and presentation skills; comfortable working with both creative design teams and corporate management.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation from a well-respected national-level foundation.
- Opportunity to shape the design of large-scale institutional buildings that directly support education and healthcare in India.
- Work alongside a motivated team committed to quality design and social impact.
