Role

The Resource Person - Health will work at the block level to strengthen the delivery of public health services in rural areas. This is a field-based role focused on coordination with health staff and frontline workers, capacity building, and building community awareness and ownership of health.

Responsibilities

  • Support effective health service delivery by coordinating with Primary Health Centres (PHCs), sub-centres, and all public health stakeholders at the block level.
  • Work closely with frontline health workers including ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists), ANMs (Auxiliary Nurse Midwives), Community Health Officers, Medical Officers, Self Help Groups, and Panchayati Raj Institutions to strengthen service delivery at village-level health sessions.
  • Conduct needs assessments and plan and deliver training programmes for health personnel.
  • Develop health education activities and community engagement strategies that encourage people to seek healthcare and build lasting community ownership of health.

Requirements

  • Master's or Postgraduate degree in a health-related field with relevant professional experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of on-ground experience working with the public health system and rural communities.
  • Experience in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (RMNCH) is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills for working with PHC staff, frontline workers, and block-level teams.
  • Experience in capacity building; fluency in Hindi and English.
