Thanal is an indigenous humanitarian organisation founded in Vadakara in 2008 by a group of local community members and professionals. It works under the Daya Rehabilitation Trust, registered under the Indian Trusts Act, and runs Rehabilitation Homes, Dialysis Centers, Pain and Palliative Care Centers, Schools for Differently Abled children, and other health and welfare services. Thanal operates from its headquarters in Kozhikode, Kerala, with centres across Kerala, Karnataka, and Pondicherry, and programme engagements across 21 Indian states.

Role

THANAL is looking for a Manager to oversee the day to day operations of its Rehabilitation Home in Gudibanda. The role involves supervising caregivers, nurses, and support staff, ensuring resident care, safety, hygiene, and nutrition standards are met. The Manager will coordinate with doctors, therapists, and social workers, handle resident and family concerns, and manage staff schedules, supplies, and expenses. This role also involves reporting to the Head Office and responding to emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage day to day operations of the Rehabilitation Home and ensure smooth functioning
• Supervise and coordinate caregivers, nurses, housekeeping, kitchen, and support staff
• Ensure proper care, safety, hygiene, nutrition, and wellbeing of residents
• Monitor staff attendance, duty schedules, leave, and performance
• Coordinate with doctors, therapists, social workers, and other care professionals
• Maintain resident records, registers, reports, and required documentation
• Handle resident and family concerns and ensure timely resolution
• Monitor food quality, housekeeping standards, medicines, supplies, and inventory
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Coordinate with the Head Office and submit regular operational reports
• Handle emergencies and ensure appropriate action is taken when required
• Support staff training, team development, and performance improvement
• Manage home related expenses and ensure proper utilisation of resources

Requirements

• MSW qualification
• Minimum 1 year of experience (2 years preferred)
• Strong leadership and team supervision skills
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams (doctors, therapists, caregivers)
• Ability to manage resident care standards, safety, and hygiene
• Good reporting, documentation, and resource management skills
